As I embarked on this odyssey, being a vegetarian and teetotaler in a foreign land presented its initial challenges. However, with the support of a wonderful team and colleagues from various nationalities, these hurdles soon became manageable. I learned to go with the flow and savor the new experiences life offered.

Navigating the markets of Asia and the Middle East introduced me to different work cultures, leading to the formation of lasting friendships with customers. Late-night tenders and pizza dinners with the team in a foreign setting united us and created cherished memories.

With expanded responsibilities across the world, I had the privilege of immersing myself in diverse cultures. A valuable lesson I've learned is the importance of being frank and clear, regardless of cultural differences, in order to make a meaningful impact and earn people's trust.

My #35Years@hitachienergyandABB have not only enriched my career but have also been a source of incredible life experiences. These 35 years exposed me to various cultures across more than 40 countries on four continents. They taught me to adapt, be accommodating, and stay attuned to the world around me.
